I have also noticed several unusual things when i was checking the server logs, but i am not disclosing that now. I have used Bagi's script to ban almost 1000 IP's and that helps me a lot. I believe you need not to worry as you are still in contest and who knows this site wins. it's all depends how Google reacts. Best of luck! This is pretty bad!
